Le Panier, the oldest district of Marseille, designates a district of Marseille located in the 2ᵉ arrondissement, shared between three administrative districts: Hôtel-de-Ville, Les Grands-Carmes and La Joliette. The north shore of the Old Port is the oldest part of the historic settlement site of the Greek colony of Massalia in 600 BC. To enjoy this mythical district, the best way is to stroll until you get lost in the narrow streets. The conviviality and the soft atmosphere which reign there are pleasant.Between small café terraces, colorful street-art facades, and small designer boutiques, you won't know where to turn: it's a real open-air museum!
